Climb High

Our church has had a spot at the local month Street Fest this summer and one of the attractions there is a 20 foot climbing wall.  The kids love to try and get to the top with the security of a safety harness and hydraulic cable system.  They've gone a few times so far.

 

When Wendy Tunison had a speed scrap this summer that called for an extraction, these photos (which I had taken a week or two before) gave me an idea - action!  I extracted three photos and then blended them and made the coloring the same (sun was at different angles) so that it looked like the kids are climbing on top of one another.  This also happens to be the order of how high they could go this particular time - Samantha was having issues with her confidence in her ability.  Andrew tried his best, but only Justin made it to the top - TWICE!

 

My hubbie suggested the awesome title: 'Reaching New Heights' AFTER I had made it ... so I just left it the way it is :)

My Favorite Kind of Day

Before it gets too cold here, I want to share with you a layout from one of our trips to the beach.  I was so impressed with the kids and how well they played in the water by themselves.  I just sat back and watched with pride and joy as they had FUN!!!

For this layout, I started off with a template freebie (August) from Oscraps.  The background is one photo even though it's broken up and looks like a blend.  I chose it intentionally because all three kids were in it.  It is slightly blended with a background paper.

My Man

This is my husband.  Quite an awesome husband and I love him very much :)

I had these photos of him that we both liked and I was waiting for the right time to scrap them ... but no brilliant idea was coming to mind, so I just did a simple double layout.  Originally, the left page was going to be the full photo with the monogram (see the photo above).  But, hubbie dearest, with his wonderful input, thought it needed something more, so I distressed the edges and he's very pleased with it now ...

   

The first photo is the best photo and the second page are the other photos from that day where he made funny faces at me.

I used A+Designs, Apple Tart, for the red and green papers and stamped my own masks to create the paper mats.

Black Belt

My cousin recently received his black belt.  I got absolutely horrible photos at the ceremony, but I still wanted to make something for him, so grungy was the way to go!

 

 

I used a series of photo masks from Anna Aspnes, some things from her Artplay Ablaze kit and papers from Danimoy Designs kit, Seeing Red.

 

I'm going to print it out and give it to him ... I'm very proud of his accomplishment!

Our Life Right Now

Yes, that's my family and yes, that's my husband being silly.  I don't know what got in to him because he's normally very tame ...

this was for a speed scrap and it was to capture this moment in time and what's going on in your life ... I agonized over it - especially when she told u s to make all those boxes and I really wished that I'd known the end ... but I still enjoyed the process and I'm very happy with the result.  I tried to capture things that would be interesting to us down the road and not just generically 'happy' things.

I used an old kit of Wendy Tunison's called, 'A Little Me Time' and the alpha from 'Kisses and Crushes'.
