Inspiration piece - Philippians 4:8

Over a month ago, we were in the midst of the holiday season, enjoying it while longing for it to be over and thinking about the new year. I wanted this new year to have a purpose. I wanted to accomplish more. Not just anything, but things that mattered. So, I spent some time writing down what those things would be - which is unusual because I've never been big on New Year's Resolutions.

I created this as an inspiration piece. It hangs by my bedroom door so I see it everyday. I need to be reminded what my life should be about!

Forgive the bad picture. I had to use the flash.

I created the it by layering three graphics together - a cement wall texture checked mosaic (original by moi), a sunset and a clock face. I also fiddled with the hue and saturation in order to achieve the desired color. Then I typed the verse in Century Gothic font and really fiddled with the font sizes to get it to get it justified to both right and left.
Here's what it looks like:

I printed it out in 8x10 at Walmart. Then I grabbed some Making Memories chipboard letters and painted them with Tim Holtz Crackle paint (so cool). Mat the print and glue the letters on with CTMH liquid glass then frame and VOILA! My 2009 inspiration/motivational piece.

If you like it, feel free to download the graphic and make your own!

Wow! You are truly creative! I think it's wonderful what you've done: both the creating as well as your "resolution"! Great idea to hang it somewhere where you see it every day.

This is very cool. I have no idea what you are talking about though, lol! Don't think I would be able to do that...don't even know where to start on the computer...How do I get the background stuff - clock, etc? That would be a good place to start ;-)
